The use of competency frameworks for the assessment of professionals’ competence, or fitness to practice, is expanding. Those who commission or use such frameworks are often unaware of the deep level of change they engender.

Dr. Bridget Hanna's research explores the impact of a changed regulatory and assessment framework on the professional practice and identity constructions of regulated psychologists.

Dr Bridget Hanna is currently a Lecturer in Work Psychology at Edinburgh Napier University
